Are all Shiro Kamos lacquered?

Or, to put it another way, do they all require treatment with acetone to remove the lacquer before use/sharpening?

Which will be my first foray into carbon steel/non-production knives, and I want to make sure I'm doing everything right!

Edit: Lol, I guess some outside links are censored? It's a Shiro Kamo White #2 Gyuto 240mm
 
If there is some rainbow colored laquer on there you can remove it with acetone. If its not there, there is no point in using acetone. Pretty simple!
