Ashi Ginga White 2 240mm gyuto with Micarta handle -- $175 shipped CONUS

Purchased here off KKF for $150, previous owner used in a pro kitchen. It originally had oversharpening at the tip, so had it reprofiled at Korin ($35 value) and it was additionally thinned by me, thus the scratches (see video). Comes with wooden saya but no box.

Btw I cross-posted this to r/truechefknivesBST but for a lower price here since KKF has been good to me :)

Yes and yes -- edge length is a true 240mm and height is 46mm at the heel. Balance point is as pictured, if you'll excuse my dirty carpet.

Thanks for the photo of the balance point. Some additional questions:

Can you tell me more about what you had Korin do to "reprofile" the tip?

Also, this knife appears to have lost about 3mm from its stock height. That suggests quite a bit of use and sharpening. Is that why you thinned it, and, if so, what was your process?

Finally, can you provide a link to the original BST sales thread?

Sure thing -- Korin has a $35 general "major repair" service and I asked them to reprofile and thin within that repair category as there was a bit of oversharpening at the tip. Those were the only instructions I gave, you can compare the profile to the original BST post. The listed height on the original post is 47mm.

It wasn't quite as thin behind the edge as I wanted, so I later thinned at 2000 grit and sharpened up to 5000 grit. That was the only sharpening it received after the Korin reprofile.
