Hey guys, looking to sell this ashi stainless gyuto, size: 260x52 (heel to tip). It has been lightly used at home kitchen and has light patina. Comes with new factory saya.

Bought it from Bernal last year for $300, looking to get $200 back. Shipping is $35 world wide.

That's what I spotted on the blade. From what I understand the ss steel is more like stain-LESS, rather than stainless. I found patina occurs on my Yoshikane and wakui which claims to be stainless clad as well.
Pic 1: ashi, pic 2: wakui, pic 3: Yoshikane

    Ok .
I see patina only on the core of the yoshikane and Wakui ,so my guess is that you got a ashi in shirogami steel .

It's those pale spots on the ss clad of these two that need to be at right angle of light to see. But they are not there when I bought them new. And thanks, love my Yoshikane.

Referring to the kanji it is definitely stainless steel.
Those swedish steels are rust resistent, which doesn't mean there can't be any light hints of patina. Have it on some of my Ashis too.

So to me that seems possible.

    Sorry for OT, glws.

    Mack.

If it were the white variant there would be no doubt it was carbon. Stainless is stainless, not stain free.

    Where are you shipping from?

    And GLWS!

It's definitely the stainless variant. It's easy to tell. The little apostrophe kanji is how they mark the stainless steel.

Geez. How is nobody buying this? You can't find them for less than $300+ so this is a crazy good deal.
