Hi all,
Trying to look into getting some knifemaking gear, so raising a few funds.
Up for sale is an Ohira Aisa Karasu and Nakayama Iromono Koppa
Nakayama Iromono Koppa 810g (including wooden stand) 140x74x25mm $200USD
Really nice example of a properly hard nakayama finisher - leaves the typical dark mirrored cladding on soft iron and wrought with plenty of details peeking through. Not suitable as an edge stone for double bevel knives, but would be great for uraoshi sharpening on single bevels or as a final stone on kanna and razors. There is a colour line running through the middle but I haven’t had any issues with it spitting out grit so far.
I’ve attached all the photos - I don’t currently have a polish photo as I’m a bit busy but happy to do one if needed.
Ohira Karasu is a nice medium-hard stone, doesn’t self slurry super fast, but leaves a lovely finish and edge. Easy enough to use, but wouldn’t call it a final finisher for polishing, but something you use before a fine nakayama or something like that.
Asking $800USD, it’s a fairly clean stone, the only “inclusion” is a line of colour you can see, but it’s only colour and not really a ‘line’ like regular su but a colour splotch in the shape of a line.
Happy to discuss international shipping, domestic shipping within australia I’ll cover included in the price.
Wise preferred but happy to do Paypal as well if necessary.
Dimensions are 197x 70 x 32mm, 1050g
Thanks!
