Hello KKF,
I want to see what I can catch with this gorgeous gyuto by mister Bazes. Unfortunately it is a little short and a little light for my taste, but I would probably kill someone to get a workhorse by him. Trade value estimated at 975$ (the buying price). I bought it on BST to Bico Doce, it was minimally used, I used it myself 4-5 times, only for light meal preparation. Performances are stellar. I don't really want to let him go, so I might keep it if I don't have offers that are appealing.
Interested in western makers: Milan (recent work), the nine, why not another Yanick..
Here are the specs:
*225 mm edge length
*53mm heel height
*old wrought iron over vtoku2
*175g

Here is the knife on the instagram post:

Here are the pictures of the actual condition of the knife : there is oil on it to protect the knife from rust, but it takes a wonderful blue patina.

Well, I’ve just checked the grind and I have not seen a big difference between the right side and the left side (with the credit card trick). Both sides are slightly convex. If there is a right hand bias, it is really minimal !

I cannot say enough good things about Alex’s knives… someone will be absolutely over the moon with this.

Also I have never held this particular knife, but as someone who loves heftier knives and also has a 215 Bazes, although they aren’t necessarily the heaviest the knife feels very dense and extremely quality feeling in hand. It’s hard to describe. My 215 is hands down one of the best knives I own. (My 260 is also absolutely bananas).
