I purchased what I thought was an oil soaked washita online. It had a story like they all do...came from a family that had a butcher shop like 100 years ago. Rolled the dice as all the questions to the seller were coming back that it wasn't synthetic.

Got it today and outside the old wood homemade box it measured 12" long, a little over 2.5" wide and 2" thick and it's heavy, 6 pounds, 5 oz.

I thought I got an old synthetic. Hit it with degreaser in the bottom of the stone and nothing. Hit the top to flatten, wasn't dished hardly at all, didn't take much. Noticed it lapped like a soft JNAT and the material removed was powdery and fine.

Hit it with water and looked like there are layers running diagonally on the surface.

Is this a BBW? It appears to me to be a natural. Took my 180 petty to it and it popped hair and nicked myself. It works fantastic.

That looks more like a purple slate, with green blobs on my computer. I believe they usually come out of Wales.

Edit; (And sometimes Vermont)
