A KKF member suggested that I post a WTB request for stones from Ardennes Coticule, either a straight blue (4000) or combo (4000) if anyone has some unused, or lightly used, examples. I would prefer one of the longer sizes (20 cm+) but I'm open-minded. These would be for knives, not razors.

Please note that shipping could be to either Los Angeles or France, depending on where you're located.

Thanks!

If I were you, and I was located in France, I would be hitting up antique markets or flea markets and searching for these in the wild--not here on BST.

Coticules are relatively easy to spot compared to other old oily natural stones. With a little effort, I am sure you will find great vintage examples for much less money than if you were to buy them here. Plus, it's fun to go out there on a treasure hunt.

Yeah I second eBay, just gotta stay on top of it and sort by new every morning. Some nice stones have been posted these past few weeks.

Google is a nightmare these days with search results, everything is just sponsored. There’s ways to tweak your query so that you can find some nice vintage stones usually hidden deep on some random tool collector websites.

Lastly don’t just search for “Belgian Coticule”. Use ChatGPT to learn what Belgian stones are called in different countries and search for those names so that google can broaden your search.

Good luck!
