I have been looking at Shigefusa or Hide as I know their reputation precedes them in terms of single bevel knives. But does anyone have direct experience of these or are there any alternatives I should be considering?

Suisin Kisyubusshin by Togashi-san. Maybe one of the best debas in Sakai.

masamoto? they do everything from quite cheapish ones like 200 bux or so to 1500 ones. pick your poison. supposedly pros in japan likes masamotos.

Where can this be found?

Maker's official page is here, but no English:
https://suisin.co.jp/?page_id=124

Miura knives in Japan is convenient for us in the other countries. Their online shop has English pages and ship world wide. You can find Miura Knives in eBay as well.

I could not find retailers handling Kisyubusshin in US. Wondering why Korin does not carry this line.
