It was sold as botan but who really knows lol.
It's really hard, like lvl 4+ but not glassy at all. Finishes really fine with lots of detail. Very easy stone despite hardness.

Edit:forgot to put size, 217x80x45, 1706g

Asking 500 usd + shipping, I take the CAD equivalent.

does it work well for sharpening? or is it just a finishing stone?

The edges I've finished off this stone are downright vicious. It's like that surgical sharpness you get from a scalpel with just enough bite to tell you you're touching your ingredients

Sounds wonderful. How does it compare to a suita for kasumi finish?
Also, does it work well for honyaki?

This stone is not for you if you like contrasted kasumi finish. It burnishes out details like you wouldn't believe though. I think it is too hard to polish hagane on honyaki but it does well for jigane and again, it can be used to finish edges easily
