Hi,
I bought this knife nearly a year ago but it hasn't been used. It was bought brand new and sealed and it came like this. I noticed it when I opened it but I just figured it is just the natural wood, so I didn't return it.
Is it supposed to look perfect and be completely flat or is this fine?
It's by the rivet so I'm not sure if it's a manufacturing fault when they mounted the wood? I understand it is African Blackwood and it is normal for wood to have variations but I just wanted to check.
I mainly bought this as a "do all" knife rather than something to be overly precious about, My only concern is that if this is damage then is it going to comprimise the integrity of the handle in the long run (e.g. allowing water to get in)? Is it normal for wood handles to have features like this?
Thanks
