This is a bit bitter-sweet, on one hand I'm sorry I didn't get it in time, but on the other I'm glad that I can stop obsessing about it.

Is that shig nakiri single bevel?

and justin, no, nakiri is always double beveled and usually a lot thinner. usuba is single beveled in the same shape.

Yeah, I know the traditional designs, but I'd also never seen on with that huge, flat, polished bevel like yours... made it look almost like a single bevel. That edge must be crazy thin.
 
insanely thin. cuts like a laser. i put a microbevel on at 6000 grit.
