Love my Anryu Blue #2 Hammered Gyuto 210mm , so a while ago subscribed for an in-stock alert for the Anryu Blue #2 Hammered Petty 150mm .
Received the alert this morning and immediately click the link to purchase .
Out of Stock .
Wow !
The email does say ... " nor is it a guarantee that the item will still be available at the time you visit our website."

No worries , I'll be in Tokyo in September . Maybe I'll pick something up .

Check again in a couple days. I received an restock alert from MTC last week and when I clicked on the link, the item was still showing OOS, but a couple days later I checked again and it was back in stock.

Different site, I know, but my guess is the coding is similar for all restock alert systems, and there's even a strong chance they're using the same software service.

For anticipated drops like the recent Kono piranha party, the gates are opened seconds or even minutes from the announced starting shot. It’s a sport for the more attentive/dedicated than I can be bothered to be.

for what its worth, we also have times where a restock notification goes out, but the knife sells out faster than people can get to the site... especially for very high demand items
Understood and thank you for the reply .
As mentioned prior , I was at my computer when the email alert arrived and I immediately clicked the link to purchase .
Similar happened to me with a rare Japanese green tea from another merchant .

These were not actually back in stock. It was an error. I spoke with Mark and it was an honest mistake where a price was being adjusted in their database and the inventory count was accidentally entered for this knife. I am sure if you email him he may be able to give you an idea when they will have more in.
Thank you for the explanation .
But that green tea ; sold out in seconds after being posted !
