I haven't posted on these forums for years since I got an office job, but my interest in knives has slowly reignited. So I have a question. Back 5-6 years ago when I was big into knives there were pretty much no decent EU vendors other than Maksim/JNS and Will Catcheside.

Can someone please let me know what I've missed, what is the current status in terms of reputable EU vendors and let me know who they are? One of my friends in work is getting into knives as well, so it would be nice to point him in the right direction

A few more shops that come to mind, mostly useful for stones:

www.knivesandtools.nl (also has German, French and possibly some other versions).
www.fine-tools.com (original German version = www.feinewerkzeuge.de)

There's also a French Korin that seems at least somewhat related to the US store, but I have no experience with them. Cheapest source for Suisin stuff though.
www.korin-france.fr

Also finding it interesting how the prices have changed for some knives. I bought a Masamoto KS in 2011 and it cost me $317 shipped from JCK, it would cost about $450 now.

I think supply and demand plays a role there. They were out of stock for ages. And when certain youtubers with enough views start raving about something (whether informed or not) it eventually pushes it up a bit more.
I'm kinda surprised it hasn't generated more direct copies / imitations (with the same profile & monosteel). That would have spread out the demand more.

Long time!

There’s a load more makers than there used to be, UK shops seem to still be charging a premium without adding much other than a physical store

Thanks for all the replies everyone, keep them coming if there's others. To be honest in the unlikely event I ever buy another knife I'll just use JCK and risk the import fees.

I can also mention
https://www.kitchenprovisions.co.uk/https://thesharpchef.co.uk/https://mygoodknife.com/en/https://www.couteaujaponais.com/https://katabahamono.com/https://www.japan-shop-morita.de/https://www.knifegarage.com/
To be absolutely clear I can't comment on the quality of the service and the products provided by these vendors (except kitchenprovision.co.uk. My mate bought from them and she had a good experience) because I never had the chance to deal with them. I'm basically pointing out you have options tho. +1 on cleancut, JNS and cuttingedge.

I've ordered direct from the fujiwara teryasu website is pretty cheap, free postage to NI but bloody import fees.
