Great-grandpa’s box, cleaned of what little rust it had and re-oiled once yearly. It’s got at least one more lifetime left in it, as long as I don’t slack off too badly
And since it’s a knife forum, a little Sandvik saw for the Swedish steel junkies out there. I’m undecided if it’s a model 271 or 273 based on this brochure I found - I may need to get some rust off, although the brochure refers to plastic handles, so perhaps I need to keep digging.

Getting em lined up.
The saw was just enough out of square I ended up hand-planing each block back into square. That'll fill an afternoon.

Flattening endgrain is a pain in the hole.
Not a cutting board, but a nice place to make some!
But speaking of cutting boards there will be 3 ready soon about 1-2 weeks, all 2" end grain walnut. I'll put out a shout when they're ready.

I call this one the ‘twin star’ - made from the same piece of walnut (looks lighter due to the intermediate sanding finish)

The goal was a board that count serve as a photography backdrop of necessary, with light and dark patches to allow both dark handle and light blade to be seen.
Twin Novas, expanding into each other.
Big boy at nearly 13x20x1.75.
Planning stage
Glue up
Midpoint. Wild grain, the type of board you just have to hope is hiding in the pile at the lumber yard.
