Quick question for the coffee nerds out there. I’m putting together an AirBnB survival kit, and was considering the Wacaco Picopresso as a hand held espresso option for when we’re travelling. Has anyone got either good or bad experiences with the Picopresso? Anything you would recommend instead?
I'm not familiar with picopress, my survival kit contains a Cafelat Robot and I dare say it is no slouch...it can keep up with most highe end machines

Honestly I'd probably just do an aeropress.

Yeah, I tried a friends AeroPress earlier in the week, and the extraction wasn’t quite as rich as a Wacaco Nanopresso, which I’m trying out this weekend, and was a surprisingly decent espresso extraction.
The pumping is a bit of an odd action, but it seems effective, and the Mrs was impressed with the flavours.

I bought an AeroPress many years ago for a camping trip. To me, it's the simplest and best way to make a decent cup of coffee without having to have various bits of other machinery. You get good coffee from these, most certainly by camping standards (and beyond).

oooww wait, I'm mixing up the handpresso with the aeropress....I have been using an aeropress for a few years to get away from the hideous office coffee...great for coffee but nobody should start calling it espresso, as its not even close to that ;-)

confession; I did mess around far too much before getting me a proper espresso machine (Faema Faemina, then the Urania when the boiler size became an impediment)

Yes, Levers Rule. I have one of the original batch of Odyssey Argos in spring lever mode. I have stepped down the basket to a 49mm from the 58mm which I find much more forgiving.

I found a pro instead. Was around 350USD. We're both from the nineties, and it has some rust in some place, scale in the boiler. There's some work to be done and upgrades to dress her up for sure.
It will be paired with my K Plus to start with but for now it's a welcome home, excited you're here kind of night
