Dear all, please help an expat in need. I recently moved to Italy for a new job and had to leave my beloved Vitamix back home in the States, which leaves me wondering: given the astronomical prices that these things go for here, what do people use? Is it worth trying to get a Vitamix second hand or are there valid local alternatives? Vorwerk's products seem very popular, but their Thermomix is frankly overkill for my needs. Cheers!

I have the most basic one from Bianco, called Primo iiirc and it serves me fine for smoothies and such.
Sharp blades and lots of power.
If you need more than one speed dial, they also have more automated models.

I'm using an omniblend V since 6 years with no issues. Probably not a Vitamix but works really well at a fraction of the price. Got it through Amazon Italy where they sell even the blades. At full speed is deadly loud, not as a ninja though which I don't like. Another brand is magimix don't know if their blenders are good but the food processor I have is definitely and surprisingly silent.
