what happens when you want to cut a baguette to make a sandwich?
regular bread knive is pretty good design,
just need to sharpen it which can be a hassle.

Came across these after seeing someone mention 'bow-style' bread knives in the essential knives thread. Based in the UK (as am I) which is ideal, and surprised they were less costly than I expected.

Anyone have/used one? Worth a punt?

I have a couple (one vintage - the other is on a Huon Pine handle)

I have a couple - one's a vintage and the other (shown) is on a rather nice Huon Pine handle. Never used either of them as I don't see the need for a slice-guide - and anyway I prefer to use a
gyuto for slicing bread - no need for serrations if you keep your knives sharp and = fewer crumbs everywhere

The only times I use a bread knife is for re-heated croissants

After seeing the 'what have you chipped your knife on' thread I ain't going near bread with a gyuto.

I’m not sure what the benefit is for the flexibility you give up with this design...
