Numata was the second most popular jnat for medium grit stuff, after aoto. At least in recent ish history, because before then it was iyoto.

Contrast reminded me of a harder ohira renge suita, similar feel to that. Not as nice as the best ones though, of course. Stone feel dry is like polished marble kinda.

Has these visual black cracks or lines at one end that I can't feel at all, both whole sharpening, flattening the stone, and upon feel. Don't know how they will change over time though

Feels like a blend of Tsushima, aoto, and suita. Edge is good and speed is ok but not what I'd call fast. But it's not completely in the slow category. I wish it were faster and softer . . .usually the issue I have, but those stones are often a bit too coarse. Quite close to a finisher in grit, if not, basically a finisher but with bite when diamond stones are used.

One wrought iron Kanna the speed is a bit faster
