Hello everyone,

Thought to share my work in progress. I am making a Japanese knife stand for a few of my knives. It is still rough around the edges and need a bit of a cosmetic finishing up. It's made from oak. The pieces are connected together by dowels and glue. I have to admit that this is my first wood working project and I have made a tons of mistakes due to the lack of knowledge and tools. However, to my surprise, it is standing okay and doesn't wobble, which I guess is a good achievement. 😂😂

The stand can comfortably accommodate for four small/medium size knives, but I do not think I could use it for Yanagibas. On the picture, the longest knife on that stand is a Watanabe Honyaki 255mm, which already looks a little too long for the stand IMHO.

What stands do you guys have for your long knives, like Yanagibas? I am tempted to make a separate stand for a few of them.

Cheers
