Figured I have enough pics in my intro to start a different thread on the knives I'm making.

Newest edition to the completed pile is a custom 8" chef's in AEB-L @~62hrc. S-grind for a righty. Handle is Amboyna with Maple Burl ferrule and brass spacer. Thickness of the spine at the heel is 4mm, and it weighs in at 186g.

Thanks for looking!

I've had this one on my plate for a while, and was finally able to finish it. 8 7/8" chef's (225mm) weighing in at 209g. Handle is Amboyna with copper bolster. Steel is S35VN hardened to ~62hrc. Asymmetrical S-grind for a right hander.

The overall work looks very good, but the profiles look awkward to me. They seem to be too flat for most of the way to me.

Very nice work! Any difference working with AEB-L versus S35VN?

S35VN works much more slowly than AEB-L. Belts wear faster as well, and hand polishing is even more of a chore.

The overall work looks very good, but the profiles look awkward to me. They seem to be too flat for most of the way to me.

The flat on this one is just over 4" before a gentle curve leads to even more belly at the tip. I do a lot of custom profiles, and the only thing I've learned is that there is no consistency when it comes to preferences.

Petty/Paring I finished before the new year as a Christmas gift.
