I'm in the U.S. I would like to get my coworker a knife. I'm probably going to end up buying him a Victorinox. Just curious if anyone has any other recommendations. Trying to keep it as cheap as possible, but let's say max budget is $60-75 USD. Stainless is must. He currently owns a Kiwi and keeps borrowing my Takamura (lasers aren't for him, IMHO and the edges opinion).
JCK from Koki had black friday sale, a stainless Gyuto 210 fix your budget, a can buy 240mm for better time using of the knife.
Hmm, guess I should wait and see for black Friday/cyber Monday. The Victorinox seems to of gone up in price a little on Amazon...
I dont have any experience with it, but I've heard good things about the Fuji Narihira line and have been meaning to try it out myself. Its manufactured by Tojiro and is supposedly identical to their DP line except for the steel, which is aus8 instead of san mai vg10. You could pick this up and the matching 130mm petty for within your budget.
