Sorry, didn’t see this.
It can, but if it’s to a degree where you would feel the handle lost it charme. You could pop the handle off, light sand to remove the polish (I didn’t give the purple hart wax, only the bog oak) and leave the handle in the sun for a few days. Then it’s back to purple like never before.

Big pieces of wood, you can but in the oven at c160 that dyes the wood all the way through
