I recently put up a post on BST looking for a Nagahiri. Today, to my joy,

Crayon204

got in touch with this recommendation.

" it's still available and he wants to let it go for a very affordable offer.. Just got what i purchased from him yesterday.. You can email him for a fast response.. [email protected].. Have a nice day.."

Troy was indeed very prompt in his reply; he had a Nagahiri, he was UK based, he wanted 200USD 🚩, he had the original red box 🚩 he sent some pictures, here is one of them 🚩

This is the source of the Mazaki nashiji nakiri picture🚩 - lovely unusual handle for a Mazaki (which made the search take 2 minutes to find), nothing like the one I have in its original black box 🚩in my cupboard.

[email protected] and Crayon204 must have gone to the same school and had the same grammar teacher, who encouraged the use of the double full stop🚩

I'm shipping from UK..
I bought it from a friend..

Heads up people!

I blame reddit. It increased the visibility of the hobby and so also of KKF.
It's astounding how many new members join on a daily basis now.
The various FB groups aren’t much better but yeah, the r/chefsknives now has over 170k subscribers. It was like 50k 2 years ago. So many yahoos over there with a “I sharpened a Gyuto once, I’m an expert!” attitude.

Isn't that where trout face hangs out?

KilgoreTrout. I think he was the one reselling wa handles and pretending like they were personally handmade. Then people did a deep dive into his Reddit, found him asking how to drill tang holes, and sell handles with holes that weren't deep enough.
can I ask whose name?

Don't forget the saya that didn't fit that also had the handle cut out the size of a medium sized tree branch.
