Selling my Goku 240mm western. Nice knife, sharpened a couple times, but nothing major. Takes a really nice edge. Great cutter, midweight, sttable patina, but I'm happy to remove it if desired. Shown here next to an Ashi 240 for reference. Nice tallish heel. $325 CONUS, $355 Int'l. Includes saya. Thanks!

How does it compare to the ashi you also have listed?
Good question.

Steel is harder, but less forgiving. Feels closer to honyaki to me than typical monosteel, certainly more so than Ashi. I'd say you have to be a touch more precise with the Goku over the Ashi, which is forgiving. Holds an edge longer as a result though. It's got more taper than the Ashi, and as such, a little heavier feel to it, not by much. More mid weight, less laser except at the tip where it whips through onions and such. Grind is superb, same as Ashi, both have A+ grinds. Finish is more "working finish" while the Ashi is belt finish. Taller heel on Goku.

Thanks a lot! Lasers arent what I normally reach for first, but this one looks really interesting.

These are great, solid knives. Imo, these knives may feel delicate, due to the thinness, yet strong at the same time. I like how they purposely leave marks from the finishing process as they signal these knives need to be put to work without worrying about messing up the aesthetics. They ghost through softer produce but can easily handle something more dense. I would highly recommend you try one.

If this was 210mm it wouldn've have survived a price drop

Someone snag this

Just a quick word of thanks. The knife arrived in beautiful shape, even a nice, working edge -- special mention for the careful packing. I'm really looking forward to this one.
