Like hitting the lottery, I was surfing the net a few weeks back and found these!!! :D Here are a couple of beautiful pieces of musk ox horn from Greenland!!
Musk Ox horn is one of the most beautiful horn materials I have ever had the pleasure of using on a knife. This stuff is beautiful and polishes to a iridescent with a amber look that is hard to describe but its easy to see why this stuff is so sought after!!!

These 3 pieces are dry, and solid.. Ready to use.. This material is also one of the harder materials to work with.. Yet the finished results are worth the extra time and efforts necessary to make it a viable handle material.

These should make some BEAUTIFUL knife handles and furrell's etc.. :)

Will the red line in 4th pic(the one with the circle drawn around the little brown line) stay there for good? Is that usable? That'd just be such a cool little thing to have on a handle.

I was wondering how that will look when you start sanding, working the wood. Hope it doesn't disappear.

My first post on this forum - hi there from Poland ;)

The handle is great!
The material itself too.
What would you compare it to? I mean the hardness of working in it.
Is it similar to wild water buffalo (asian buffalo) horn?

Love your work, Randy!

Thanks Dziab, Welcome to KKF!! Its awesome stuff and pictures cant really do it justice!

I would compare it to buffalo horn for how it sands and polished.

Well guys. I received the package from Greenland! These pieces are awesome! One of the LARGE ones is for Mike. and one of the medium pieces pieces is for Mario... and the rest are not spoken for yet. :whistling:

We already seen how awesome it looks on a knife. Just check out the Suji Mike has been working on!! I cant wait to see what Mario makes with his piece! Im sure it will be AWESOME!!!!!!

Here are a few quick pictures. Sry about the bad lighting.. Anyone interested shoot me a PM. :cool2: The horn tips are solid material and would make cool furels or end caps. etc.

The plan now is to cut these and try to get em posted on my web page this weekend. I will share a link and some images here on the forum once they are in the web store.

I have had many requests for Furruel pieces. and spacer/ butt cap pieces. so I will cut some. The rest will be scales. and maybe a couple of Wa blocks.

Thanks and God Bless.
