Bought from here so I could finally try Tanaka white 2
https://www.kitchenknifeforums.com/threads/oul-hado-240mm-w-2-gyuto.64942/
226mm edge
184g
3.7mm at handle
2.1mm halfway
0.8mm 1 cm from tip
50mm tall
Super abradable steel. Not particularly hard or abrasion resistant for a Japanese forged carbon steel. Shiraki white felt harder. But really great edge formation, it responds to stones super readily, and is one of the very best at that, if not the best that I've tried. Absolutely a laser. It's a slight concave wide bevel with a tiny right-bias, so the right side bevel shoulder protrudes slightly more than the left side. I straightened minor bends, sharpened and lowered the angle, and refinished the blade faces. Quite a delicate board feel. Minor pitting leftover from patina removal. Chipping on the bottom side of the ferrule.
