“Hata Knives” is a niche business focusing on hand-forged vintage Japanese blades based in Melbourne, Australia. We do not sell new knives at all.
We source our knives through deceased estates in Japan and have a factory in Southeast Asia to restore the blades and create new handles and sayas as needed. We specialise in sourcing hand-forged blades by masters such as Takeda, Fujiwara, Masamoto, and Aritsugu, among others.
With years of experience in Australia and New Zealand, and following increasing inquiries from Europe and the USA, we have developed a website for international customers.
