Hello! I am comming from the pocket knife world and found this new world of edged objects. Glad to be here!
Thanks! Looking to learn lots.Welcome aboard! If you're familiar with maintaining pocket knives kitchen knives are relatively easy, once you grap the basics about their geometry.
I think its like jewelry for dudes. We can all get something basic for cheap but we all see that one thing to drool over and the price goes up. Would assume the same thing is true for kitchen knives?Welcome to the show. Can you explain to me why pocket (and sheath) knives sell for so much? I see them all the time on my ebay searches and they often go for crazy (to me) money.
True. What was bought in the nineties for a few dollars on a French flee market now goes for $200, sold by some smart Californian guy. In the best case a project knife, requiring a lot of work before even becoming usable. But collectors don't use.I think its like jewelry for dudes. So like wristwatches as well. Makes sense. If I had the $ I'd drop four figures on a quality watch. Is a watch actually worth 1k+ just to tell the time? Not IMO but if I could afford it I'd do it.I think its like jewelry for dudes. We can all get something basic for cheap but we all see that one thing to drool over and the price goes up.
