Hello, all.
I've been into metallurgy and knife sharpening since the mid-80s. Began collecting kitchen Americana in late 90s.
My best "barn find" so far has been a slightly rusty Dexter 48914 I picked up off Craigslist for $20.00. Cleaned up rather quickly. Has beautiful Fe3O4 patina on blade. Can't believe this model is going for hundreds!
I have collections of American-made Chicago Cutlery knives, old German and American cleavers, and various pocket and camping knives.
In the sharpening department, I have two TruHone machines, a Tormek, and many steels as well as other wicked edge-producing devices.

I look forward to getting involved, learning and sharing.
