New member from Orange, CA; I'm a long-time knife nerd who doesn't actually cook enough to buy many kitchen knives.
I'm actually browsing here for work; I'm writing a general-audience review of 8" chef's knives. (Not because the world needs another one of those, but because our site is trying to cover all the bases.)
I've directly contacted a few experts here and other places so I don't think I'll be posting in many threads, and my account may never be used again after this review is in the can, but suffice it to say: I'm very thankful for the wealth of information here. You all are the best kinds of enthusiasts.
