just joined up. rookie knife maker. i enjoy cooking and the reason i am a rookie knife maker is that i want better knives in my kitchen without spending a week's pay for one(the really good ones would be two or three weeks pay).

Isn't knife making equipment more expensive than a couple of good knives? Maybe you already have the necessary equipment...

dont have that much equipment that is knife only. you are right though, the money i could earn in the hours spent on making knife from scratch and i could buy the best. part of it is "hey look what i did"
