Does anyone know the full detail of Nenohi honyaki dentokougeishi sakimaru takobiki?

i got it from my previous Japanese Chef like 4years ago.
All i know is it has walrus ivory ferrule and ebony handle, white steel2

I dont know if its water or oil quench and the hrc

If it's nenohi I believe it could be Y. Ikeda, I know he makes honyaki for them currently. I've seen listings of both oil and water quench for his knives.
 
I wouldn't get hung up on it. Most traditional makers aren't using heat treat ovens and exact temperatures to get an exact hrc, and I doubt they test every blade if any. White 2 honyaki published specs I've seen at between 63-65...but again pretty hard to really verify.

As someone who buys and sells a lot of honyaki...and someone who really cares about heat treat....for honyaki people really don't get hung up on a certain number. What's important is the smith and sharpener first and foremost and then the steel.
