Either spalted Tamarind or Black and White Ebony. I'd say Ebony.

Should I stabilize it or go with it as is?

It is a waxed bowl blank of Black and White Ebony.
If it is dry enough I would definitely get it stabilized.
This is a type Ebony that takes stabilizing very nicely.
