Just wanted to say hello from the Great White North! Toronto to be exact...

I'm what they call an extreme knife nerd. I'm a mechanical engineer by trade and fell in love with Japanese knives over a decade ago due to the wonders they can do with their steel. Since then I've spent far, far too much money on every/any piece of exotic steel that Tosho in Toronto could sell me. Thought I might fit in here :)

Welcome to the forums Dmac! You will feel right at home here. Now show us what you managed to collect :)

+1!

Have you acquired a konosuke Togo Reigo from Tosho? How many? :)

Like it?

Omega just wrote a good post about konosuke fujiyama you might enjoy!

Welcome to the forum!

Thanks guys,

Good to finally be here.

Yes and I have the two knives he is missing. The white 2, honyaki 240 and the first batch Togo 240.
I also have a super elusive Kono 240 ZDP from about 6 years ago... Among others...
I'll try and get some pics together as soon as I figure out how.

... but you asked how I liked the Togo and I didn't answer. It's been sitting in the box since I've owned it like a lot of my knives. I have used my 210 Togo plenty and it's wonderful.

Lol, ya I went down the rabbit hole years ago... Have you ever seen Damascus tamahagane?
Again I will try and post pictures when I have time. I should probably post them on another thread though I suppose.

Brooksie, nice to meet you... We are actually starting to think about moving North of the city as well. It's lovely up there. Been in the big smoke for about 20 years. It's been great but we think it might be time to have some space... And quiet!

Nevermind... I'll try and post pics tomorrow and see how it goes.

Honestly? Post on the knife thread thing! I’ll bring popcorns. More fun haha!

My parents were in Mississauga/Toronto and moved up here to be closer to us last year. They're in Collingwood and absolutely love it.
