Hi everyone! My name is Nate! I'm a homecook and new to the premium kitchen knife world. I've had a slight interest in premium Japanese knives for years but never pulled the trigger. I got my parents a Mazaki Kiritsuke Wa Gyuto 210mm for Christmas which led to eventually purchasing myself an Anryu 150mm petty for myself. I'm looking to slowly expand my collection (so my bank account doesn't hate me) and gain more knowledge on the many artisan knife makers!

Welcome.

There's some more budget friendly options out there that can provide very nice performance while you learn things you like.

Akifusa, Tsunehisa/Harukaze, Kanehide, Tosaichi, Hinokuni, and many more.

If you don't sharpen, you'll find a lot of us encouraging you to jump into it early. You can do it and this forum can help!
