Really disappointed by this. Seller relisted the knife after I had already won the auction and paid for it (Is this common on these Japanese auction sites?). I have seen before on eBay that a seller will cancel an auction after someone has already won it because it didn't reach the price that satisfied them (SMH just list it for higher). I eventually was refunded but I want this discontinued knife, and I am willing to bid again on the new listing, but I have the expectation that the same thing will happen again :(. I struggle to think that this is a scam when refunds are in place with these proxy sites.

This has happened quite a few times to me unfortunately with different sellers. Imo it's just not worth the time and energy so I'd say forget it, we lose out on some just because we don't live there. Such is life TwT

Sellers aren't required to sell to forwarding services, so if they choose to not do that, then they cancel the sale. I wouldn't say it's common, but it does happen, just note the seller and avoid their listings going forward.
