I just had the oportunity to buy a ashi honyaki gyuto and as you all know they do not come cheap. To soften the blow to my bank account im looking to sell some of my knives. Will aso help with my plan to downsize my knives to 4-5. Only selling a few and will pull out the rest once ive reached my target. These knives are my absolute favs. Sold all my katos and shigs but kept these ones.

From the top
Yoshimitsu tamahagane/watetsu gyuto 240 - 1000usd bought for 886+shipping and fees

The 9 gyuto 235mm wrought iron/blue 2 core. 550usd - un sharpened but used lightly has patina. Paid 460 rest is for fees and shipping

Watanabe petty 180mm white 2 iron clad. Ok long story for this knife. Hot this from nutmeg was initially a KU but nutmeg removed it and madeit mirror. However it still have the anoying wide bevel shoulder. I sent it to dave to make it convex but removed the kanji in the process. He did an excellent job. Now i can slice fetta cheese without it cracking. Dave also adjusted saya to keep it friction fit. Dont know the price on this got it ina trade. Btw this is 100% watanabe not toyama since its from his special page lol kidding. Maybe i can ask Sinichi to reengrave kanji. 350usd or best offer

2 hiromoto honyakis rehandled and given a spa treatment by dave. Both is ironwood. First is hidden tang the second is full tang. Ive spent probably more than 1k each for these. Still have paypal transactions for proof. Will only sell one. Cant decide i like both. First one has a more heftier feel which i prefer but i like the looks of the second one but its more lighter/nimble. Will sell 950usd each

Last 300 ikeda honyaki blue 2. Un used but took handle off to polish and bring out hamon. Hamon was completely invisible when i first got it so had to etch it out. Was lucky to see that hamon was not broken. Will include display box my friend made for me its magnetic so you can display it standing up or on its side. 1100 usd

Thanks for looking

any chance we can get some more photos of the hiromotos? any shaping/figuring on the handles? Is it the full tang or the hidden tang that is lighter? are the grinds the same?

Sorry will take pictures a bit later. 1st one with the single pin is hidden tang. Second one is full

Pics of second hiro. This one i etched the hamon and is polished slightly higher. Both have alloy banding but would need further polishing/etching to bring it out

Picture of the banding of the second hiro. First one has it too. You can see it when it has patina.

Btw height of the 9 gyuto is 56.5 so dimensions is 235x56.5 its a beast

I would legit be heartbroken if both those Hiromotos went, glad you can keep one. Lovely stuff, and buy with confidence from Geoff
