I ordered a steel flat plate from him and it was pretty darn flat too
I can’t tell whether this is sarcastic or not.

If you did, was shipping reasonably priced and did it get to you within a reasonable timespan?

The flat plate comment was not supposed to be sarcastic but I neglected to write it better

I have this plate

I used a proxy though so shipping was probably lower through them, at least it should be. From Japan proxy

He has this precision flat plate I think you saw, that I thought to get for Kanna or checking flatness. For knives I don't really need it, but I got it to check knife edge profiles. I think checking by eye is faster though for me now. It is flatter than the atoma plate for example

He has a bunch of stuff on Yahoo auction. He does cater to woodworking and knife folks, and he has the lowest price on Tsushima, and price matches those.

He has a lot of slurry pictures with what looks like from a diamond plate. So I wouldn't be able to tell you if the stones self slurry or not. But I buy stones off pictures of the stone itself mostly, and go for matte stone textures, like flat or velvet paint. I think @ethompson might have experience with the seller but I'm not sure.

I can give the URL if it's not treading on people's toes.

I think I bought a smaller stone from him last year - it did what it said on the packet. He is certainly a regular seller on the Japanese sites that I check on a near daily basis, mixing cheaper koppas with some more expensive stones as well as the occasional knife, powders and so forth.

I've bought four stones from him; one from Yahoo JP and 3 direct.

Something to keep in mind is that you're not going to get quite the same enthusiasm to just discuss natural stones or the extensive testing notes you would get buying from some of the individuals around here, or at least I haven't gotten that sense. But, there's really nothing to complain about IMO
