Jikko Akebono 240mm in blue #2 with Khii ebony and laurel handle - paid and asking for 410$
Now 390$
Blades surface has some pitting on the pinch grip and two specks near the tip. The khii handle has a hairline fracture. Both photographed in the worst light possible for clarity, but Honestly, hard to tell those are there without close inspection. I think it is a great way to try the Shiriki/Tosa combo without breaking the bank.
I used for two dinners and did some test cuts here and there with carrots and potatoes, but no heavy use. I put my own edge on it upon arrival and light polish with flitz.
Solid board feel, thin behind the edge but not plingy, exceptional craftsmanship, and I love the extra length on something from Sakai.
Measurements
Weight - 220g
Height at heel - 53mm
Edge - 244mm
Width of spine handle - 3.15mm
Heel - 3.1mm
Halfway - 3.0mm
Tip approximately 1cm - 1mm
