You know the drill; thinning the herd, making room for other purchases, just too many stones, etc.
All prices to follow are USD, PayPal fee and CONUS shipping inclusive. International shipping I'll cover the first $10 and the rest is up to the buyer. Stones are in NYC, and I'll give a no-shipping, no-PayPal fee discount for cash transaction pickup. Where I can I've also provided the original listing for the stones and where not, I'll mention the store purchased from. Additionally, all stones are roughly bench stone sized with slight variance. If anything is confusing to you from the pictures I can provide exact dimensions but for now I will simply provide the weight. The junker being used to show finish was just done for a few strokes on each stone and each stone was tested in order as they were posted here. If anyone needs a more in-depth slurry/finish shot, just let me know.
2. Takashima $425 - 1570g https://www.japanesenaturalstones.com/takashima-lv-2-5-a1286/
3. Takitani - $225 - 1298g - https://www.japanesenaturalstones.com/takitani-lv-3-5-a1392/
4. Kizuyama - $425 - 1056g - https://www.japanesenaturalstones.com/kizuyama-lv-3-a1565/
5. Shobudani Suita - $500 - 1252g - From Carbon Knife Co. Don't have the store page
This suita has a good amount of Su on the top half of it, but it's all clean right now. Lines is non-toxic. This is a bit softer than the next Shobu Suita and a touch softer than the Kizuyama above. Leaves deeper contrast than either of the aforementioned stones but not quite as bright a Jigane. Excellent edge finisher, very refined with a bit of tooth.
6. Shobudani - $550 - 1203g - From Bernal Cutlery.
Excellent Shobudani Awasedo. Very clean, line is totally nontoxic. Leaves deeper contrast than the Kizuyama above, not grabby on cladding. Strong cutting power and quite smooth. Leaves good contrast and a slightly mirrored Jigane.
All lines in stones are nontoxic, but as always this could change when you work through the layers. I wanted to keep it all in one post so I didn't add all the pics. Let me know if you need more and of course, those new to JNats looking at any of these please PM me any questions you have before just jumping in. The Okunomon and Takashima are the most beginner friendly of the bunch.
Cheers.
