Kanji on plane blade

Hello everyone,

My next project is making a dai for this kanna blade out of yellow heart wood, but I don’t really know much about this kanna. I’ve tried the hand drawn kanji lookup stuff and I just cannot figure out what these markings say. If it’s not too much trouble, could someone please help? Thanks

不動龍　Hudou Ryu

There are little information about this brand on the internet.

Thanks a lot ojisan! I can't find much on that brand, still looking. Do the kanji on the sides say anything important?

The two kanjis on the right side are 登録 registered, means registered trademark.

The left side one is tricky. I'm not pretty sure but guess this is not a character. The "mark" looks like the one Ogata Shuji-san sometimes used.

I found a plane that has the same brand on Yahoo Auction.

He was a blacksmith in Nigata and passed away in 2016.

I'm not a specialist of this kind of tools, so could be telling something totally wrong.

Now that is interesting. I find that searching for the blade using "不動龍 鉋" rather than the english in the google search gives more accurate results.

That left mark does seem to be the same sort of mark as the Ogata examples, but with a slightly different style. Mine is the only hand chiseled one out of the examples you and I found. Maybe it means it's older, I don't know.

Regardless if this is Ogata Shuji or Ogata Hideshi, this looks and feels like a high quality kanna.

Yeah, they look similar but not identical. I cannot tell wether they just simplified the mark for hand chiseling or not.

That one does, yes. It's hard for me to interpret the makers of those... I'm reading Hideshi Kokata Hideji Tetsuhide?
Here's another example, but still no clue as to the left mark.

It's hard for me to interpret what is Ogata and what is not. If multiple makers are using the same mark, perhaps it tells us the type of steel?

By chance, I found this kanna currently on the auction site. Described as inscribed "Hisakatsu"
