Didn't want to hijack the existing thread.

I need to fix the finish on my yanagiba (white 2), which is looking terrible following my sharpening attempts. Currently have the following stones, will they do the job (at least adequately, if not perfectly)?

- Naniwa Pro 400
- Sakaiden 1000
- Naniwa Pro 3000
- Naniwa Junpaku 8000

I'm going to try it and see in any event. If it doesn't work, I'd like to have some assurance that my poor technique is to blame, not the stones.

If the Naniwa Pro have anything in common — they all have very different characters, if I may say so — it's their versatility. They behave very differently according to the amount of mud that has been raised — or not, the amount of water, the applied pressure. It is well worth to experiment a bit with it.
