This is a bit of an oddball WTT, but I’d like to trade my Kato STD 240 for a nice 160-185 tall petty/short suji/baby gyuto.

Must be in stainless/semi-stainless/low reactivity steel. No damascus please. Preferred dimensions are 170-180mm x 40mm. Yo handle preferred, but flexible depending on the maker.

My absolute ideal would be a Konosuke Sanjo SKD 180 petty.

If you have the Bidinger 180 from today’s newsletter draw, I might have something else of interest to you — let’s talk…

I’d also love something by Shi.Han, Dalman, Tsourkan, Mario, HSC, Kipp, etc.

I do have feelers out with a few makers for a custom, but also want to see what I can reel in. I'm about to go visit family for the holiday weekend, so I'll let this sit until Monday 1/15. Please don't make me pull out the big guns to get the trade I want...

Note on valuation: This is the actual price I paid in March 2023. I realise it is at least $200 below current BST/eBay market value – and that would be enough to cover a good chunk of a nice custom petty. But a) I'm quite impatient to fill this gaping hole in my kit; and b) as far as I can tell, BST is not actually about the acquisition of knives, but the slow losing of money, so why start making a profit now?

Oh, and I'm keeping interested buyers' place in line from the last time I dangled this knife, so it's pretty much SPF if/when it comes to a sale.

I have some great offers on the table, but just want to give this a final late night bump in case anyone out there has that elusive Kono 180.
