Hi all,
Up for your consideration today is two knives from two wonderful makers. As much as I'd like to keep both of these knives, I have been on a bit of a spree recently and need to reduce and recoup funds for some heavy hitters coming in.
Up first is a Kippington Honyaki Laser Gyuto. Specs are 230 x 56, 223g. Steel is 1095, laser grind but feels very substantial in hand. Handle is curly myrtle with a brass spacer. Balance sits between the feather and the heel. This knife has been thinned in the past, and cuts extremely well. There is some pitting near the tip on one side of the blade, but it is very shallow. I have tried to highlight this in pictures. Please see this previous sale post for more information: Kipp.
I have used the knife for maybe 10 minutes total. Most recent pictures can be found here.
Next, a Catcheside gyuto. Specs are 200 x 45, 156g. Steel is 1.2442 clad in soft iron. Unsure on handle materials but it is a fairly lightweight wood. Balance is just in front of the heel. Very little use on this one to my knowledge, I believe I am the second owner. I have also only used this knife for maybe 15 minutes total. Previous sale here.
Catcheside Photos
I paid $420 for the Kipp and $450 for the Catcheside. I am pricing the bundle at $850, shipped CONUS. Willing to discount for fee-free payment. No international please.
I'd prefer to send these out together, but I am open to hearing cash/trade offers for one or both knives.
Thanks.
