So I would like to try some high grit sandpaper before buying stones. Pretty clear that P is for the Euro standard but now I read that as the world has adopted the Euro standard that some Euro sandpaper will not have the P in front of the number?? If true than one cannot assume that non P sandpaper is ANSI. I also read if it's made in the US it will be ANSI. So now you have to ask every non P sandpaper seller what standard they use?? This whole thing with grits is an abomination, purposeful obfuscation and confusion and completely without justification. Have your own standard if you want but at least make it easy to know what the micron size is. You don't get that even when you look at manufacturers specs, at least sometimes. Why are they doing this?
