This is a 190mm kitchen camp knife in Z wear and ironwood with black liners.
Full tapered tang construction, tapers from .10" to .025"

Okay Harbeer, a question from someone who is clueless. What is the reason for tapering the tang? The only thing I can think of is weight reduction?

yes that's correct, so depending on the knife, thickness etc, tapering moves the balance point.
also visually it improves the flow of the knife,
IMO, straight slab knives look sort of production to me.
 
Sure, it certainly shows that more work went into the knife. I like the look and it certainly makes the knife stand out in the crowd.
