At the end of the day, if you're happy with the knive(s) you have and how they perform, isn't that what matters the most?I'll likely never own a Kato and won't ever own a Denka so I guess I'm destined to tread the murky waters of "just good knives".

Western demand is driving a good amount of new production. But there have long been super high end one off pieces made with watetsu / rentetsu (aka wrought) out there. Heiji, Tanaka, Tsukasa, Kato, all have some - sure there are more
