Insane metal monkey gyuto

Ive been watching Tobi pretty much since Ive joined the forum now. He doesn't really do stone work but his dammy twist and grinds are killer, taper to match. Nice western handle concept as well. I’ve heard a lot of praise on his work from members here. Very talented guy all around.

This is the type of maker I’d want to forge some wrought on whatever, twist it, and send off to someone else for grind/kasumi.

Although, I have been appreciating the subtle dammy on low shinogi (ie milan) that pop with a polished bevel.

The possibilities…..collab when?

What are the benefits of the membership?

You get the pleasure of paying for reading blog posts and being under the misconception that you may get a knife before the general public does.

Konosuke gets the the pleasure of making money without having to produce anything of material value.

They released a batch of the L1 (white steel 1) for subscribers last week. Again no guarantee but not just blog posts and t shirts.

There was a lot of sarcasm in my post.

But with that being said, I have no plans to support this business model. Konosuke's track record for releases over the last five years has been few and far between for their prestige line (Fujiyama). And those drops have been fairly small quantities/vendor (like 6 knives). I suspect they will be making a lot more off of the subscription than they will off of knives. I get the idea behind an insider club, but the value of this is 99% to Konosuke and 1% to the consumer.

I'm not interested in their knives, but I was curious - so I subscribed to see what it is about. All I see on membership page are 4 very short "blogs". Am I missing anything?

On mobile so maybe formatting different but was post 75 (In house sharpened knives v.2 (8). Rather jumbled in there, also I believe this was first knife offering so yes unless you’re extra curious about what kosuke is thinking about week to week probably not missing much…
