Knife Insurance Valuation

Hi. I'm interested in your thoughts around ensuring that your knives are insured accurately - not just for the purchase price, but for the actual value. I'm in Australia, anyone heard of a specialist valuer?

The purchase price is the typically considered the market ("actual") value. Or is this a trick question?

My insurance covers you for the cost to replace the item. Many of my knives are worth quite a bit more than the actual purchase price. Also, the side benefit by having an actual valuation means I have more proof ownership and the catalogue of knives that I own.

If not, Bernal Cutlery does appraisals (hopefully appraisal by email would be possible).
Insurance companies can get finicky sometimes and require appraisals come from a "certified appraiser"... may be able to find one by giving an auction house a call.
