Here's one from my new "Economy" line of knives I'll be doing every so often
The principle idea of it is to put out quality blades, at a more affordable price by using more standard materials and minimizing time spent on hand sanding/finishing.
A simple saya can be made for an additional $100.
Hand forged to rough dimensions including its length, overall profile, and distal taper. The blade is hand sharpened on Japanese whetstones up to 1000 grit only and stropped.
Wa handle was made inhouse and tang was burned in for it's final fit. I left the blue, purple, and straw coloured oxides on near the ferrule after I soften the tang.
Blade was treated to about 62-63 RC
This will be shipped with a simple plastic, felt lined blade protector.
Thanks for looking everyone!
1095 Carbon Steel
Figured Mango Base and Black “Richlite” Ferrule
Weight: 208g
Edge Length: 219mm
Blade height at heel: 69mm
Blade thickness tapers from 2.7mm to 1.9mm before the tip progresses down.
Balance is right above my touch mark
Price is $320 Shipped CONUS
